Premium quality and modern aesthetics for the tastes of adult gamers.

Like most people, I've been going through list after list for a long time, looking for a chair that fits my needs. Of course, functionality was a very important factor, but I have to say that it came third after style and comfort. I'm in my 30's and used to use an executive office chair. The kind of chair a lawyer should have in his office at work. While it looked very nice and was supremely comfortable (genuine leather), it had many compromises in my home office setup, ranging from the lack of back recline and limited height adjustment to the fact that the armrests were, of course, firm and could not be adjusted. The limit on how close you can get to the table has been adjusted. Enter the AKRacing Obsidian office chair. To be honest the biggest downside to my purchase was the lack of actual customer pictures so I'll fix that. It helps to have an idea of what the chair will look like in a real office environment. Details: On-site packaging of the chair. The chair arrived well secured in a thick corrugated box with piping for extra support. After opening the box, the chair, packing materials, tools, equipment and instructions are well packaged, easy to remove and ready to assemble. The instructions are picture book style as I believe these are the most common instructions these days. There was only one picture with instructions on how to attach one of the plastic side pieces to the chair, which I didn't think was well done, forcing me to go to google to find pictures of the assembled chair to make sure I installed it in the right orientation. Otherwise all were good. The equipment provided is excellent. Once you assemble the chair, you'll quickly realize just how durable it really is. I left out the included Allen key and decided to use my own hand tools to speed up the assembly. There was nothing wrong with that, but the hex socket and ratchet wrench will serve you well, and the frame and hardware showed no signs of "oh no what if I tear it up" if you get my meaning. The chair is solid. A few words about comfort. I have "nobuttatal" and hard stools. But in the 2 months I had him he succumbed a bit. It will never be an executive chair or a Serta chair, but I definitely wouldn't call it uncomfortable, even after sitting in it for over 4 hours. If your seat height is too high for your body, your shins will tingle, but that's not unique to this chair. It's more than wide enough for you to be comfortable, and you can actually spread your legs or lean on your elbows and all the other bad posture habits you're used to while sitting in the Obsidian. Excellent customization. I didn't do a "full recline" as I personally don't see the point of it. Another reviewer made two points that I agree with and there is a third point I would like to add. wheels are rough. They work fine, but they look like they were detached from one of my Hot Wheels toys or shrunk down to the size of a kid's tricycle. The frame of the chair should be dark grey, anthracite, metallic or black. I think matte black would be best.2. The armrests rotate too easily. When my wife sits in a chair my friend, she will almost fall trying to get out (which I thank you for on AKRacing because it's fun), but at the same time I don't think that should be a problem in this class of chairs. This is of course less than I expected for this price. It's not a deal breaker and in about a week you'll know how to handle the chair and get used to not being lazy about how to get out of it. However, it's noticeable enough to influence my future chair purchase decisions, as I've added lockable armrests (if any) to my wish list. My chair's recline function, which you control by pulling a lever under the seat, either doesn't work or is designed for a much wider weight range. I'm very active, so admittedly, even though I'm 5'11, I weigh less than 170 pounds. But no matter how I adjust it, I can't get it to "unlock" the incline and then rock back into the chair. It's just too stiff. Of course YMMV. In summary, my chair arrived in good condition, with None Damaged in shipping and the only issue I had was one of my armrests moving excessively.I contacted them about this and the warranty part was ordered for me.The service I received as soon as I was able to contact them was A+ ++ None of these negatives make me regret my purchase at all I highly recommend this chair and if it performs as I expect then I am sure my next chair purchase in the future will still be from AKRacing .
