I live in Florida. Anytime a storm threatens, the supply is depleted by the time we get to the store to stock up on a few gallons of water for emergencies. I keep a few gallons on hand for emergencies, but they're hard to store and hard to track age. I picked up 10 gallons from our adventure with Irma in the last storm, and of course they tasted like plastic. No longer! If I have food containers, I can always have one in the car and a few on hand, and at the first sign of a storm I can start filling others with our own filtered water. I've been looking for a solution like this for ages. I used to have 5 gallon jugs but at my age I can't handle the weight. They are easy to handle and easy to distribute in a minivan in small accessible spaces as opposed to trying to fit large containers. Freezing means that the product stays half full in the freezer and is always ready to be sent to the fridge. No more discarded plastic!
