Review on ๐Ÿฑ Sofa-Scratcher Squared: The Ultimate Cat Scratching Post and Furniture Protector by Lisa Davis

Where has it been all my life?!?!

UPDATE 07/25/2020: We now have four of these sofa scratching posts. (I have four couches and too many cats). I haven't had any functional problems. My sofa has never felt uneven due to the acrylic base. None of the acrylic feet have ever broken when I've placed my furniture on them and then sat on them - all the feet have remained intact. I really had to buy a piece of scratch resistant plexiglass for the sofa that I got for my recliner part because the part's "leg" is further back than a traditional sofa. I used the base that came with the couch scratching post as a guide and simply cut out a longer base. And it works like a dream. As you can see in the second photo, the sofa scratching post is higher than my other sofa, but that's not a problem for us. I will be ordering two more next month for the fourth sofa. It's awesome and I'm sorry I didn't invent it. If you're on the fence, buy them seriously. Even though we had two scratching posts and a scratching post with scratching posts, our cats messed up the corner of our couch. The company that made our sofas offers custom slipcovers, but they cost $600 and we just weren't ready to pay that kind of money right now. Enter this child here! I read all the reviews and was a little afraid it wouldn't be strong, but it is. It doesn't fit very well on the sofa upstairs but you can't tell unless you look for it - my son didn't even notice until I showed him. I have the brown and it's almost a perfect color match. My cats were a little suspicious the first day, but after figuring it out and rubbing it a few times, they loved it. The screw holes in my unit were perfectly placed and lined up with the plexiglass base exactly as they should. We had no problems with claws or anything like that. I honestly wish I had found it long ago to keep my sofa corner from making a mess. Lesson learned. If you have trouble with your furry babies scratching your furniture, try this method.

Pros
  • High-quality workmanship
Cons
  • Largely ok, but...
