I run about 80 miles a week at an average pace of about 7:10 miles. I am also a 1:20 half marathon runner and am aiming for a sub 2:50 marathon. I was hoping this would be my long running shoe to replace my Pegasus on the cheap. The build quality of this shoe is really good for the price. Specially engineered mesh upper for a wider foot. They sag when you tighten the laces if your feet are medium or narrow. The shoe weighs 242 g in US size 8 (EU 41), i.e. HOKA Cliftons. The pillow is quite soft and seems to withstand violence. Regardless, I only rode this shoe 10 miles before returning it. Why? The heel-to-toe offset is really high. I can't find numbers but I'm guessing it's over 10mm. Most of the shoes I run in (HOKA Clifton 8, Mach 4, New Balance Beacon, etc.), with the exception of the Nike Pegasus 34, have a drop between 4mm and 6mm. These shoes make you feel like you're always on the go and it puts pressure on my calves. The combination with the Probar insert creates a strange driving experience. Also, the laces are obscenely long. They lack the extra grommet you get in many shoes to prevent heel slippage, which was a minor issue considering the odds. If you like walking in heels, this shoe could be for you. I think this would be the perfect running shoe if it wasn't for the big drop. The shoe itself is relatively stable, with a stack of probably 35mm in the rear and 24mm in the front (my best guess). Overall it's a good shoe, but the camber is too aggressive for me.
