These are not very good palette knives. They are too rigid - not flexible at all like a palette knife should be. I read the same complaint in another person's review. I didn't take the time to read reviews (like I usually do) before ordering them and I've noticed that first-time visitors or new users seem to think they're great. The flexibility of the putty knife determines how useful it is when mixing colors on the palette as well as when painting with them. Yes, these palette knives come in a variety of shapes, but they're all terrible. Also, the smallest in my set isn't even attached to the handle. It's much better, paying a few bucks more to get a set that works properly. Sometimes beginners buy cheaper materials, thinking that as their art improves, they will get better materials. The downside of this is that the beginner can blame themselves for not getting good results when in reality it is the poor quality of the tools.
