I installed this on my 2001 Silverado 5.3L along with a flounce spacer for the throttle body. Installation was a nightmare. There are these 2 foam pads that compress the airbox wall and attach to the MAF sensor. It would be better if they were something more durable, like rubber. You will receive 3 small hex screws that you need to align with the mass airflow sensor, 2 foam pads, airbox and filter adapter. Also, you can't see when you're refueling them. You can feel it when you can't move the filter adapter far enough to get an idea of where you're aiming. The holes on the bottom of the airbox do not line up well with the factory mounting brackets on the truck. You may need to file the holes to get the best fit. The same goes for the cover. The tubular part of this product was the worst. It will not fit in the truck if you also have a valance throttle body gasket installed. Insufficient clearance between throttle body and fan shroud. You will need to cut the pipe that attaches to the throttle body an inch to install it. And after you cut it, you have to wrestle with it to get it onto the throttle body. Make sure you deburr the edge where you should cut. When you finally have everything installed, you will see that the airbox is so big that you have to remove it to get to all the lightbulbs on the passenger side of the truck. Although it was a hassle to install, as I drove the truck around the block I saw that it worked pretty well. Very good acceleration and quick response to the accelerator pedal. The truck drove away. I think my biggest criticism of this product is that for the money you are spending you don't have to adapt the kit to the vehicle it is advertised for. However, no performance arguments. Very happy at that end. In addition, the large airbox has good airflow and still pulls air out of the passenger wing where the air is cleaner.
