PHENOMENAL

This isn't a $180 headset. I had both the Turtle Beach Elite 800 and Astro A50. This headset is far superior to the E800 and in no way inferior to the A50, but almost half the price. The boom mic automatically mutes when raised, like on the A50, but the mic doesn't pick up your breath like on the A50. The sound quality is comparable to the A50, but I feel the surround sound is better on this headset. This headset lacks Bluetooth and almost as many sound presets as the E800, but you sacrifice them for much better sound and microphone quality. However, it does support game, movie and music presets and comes with an 8mm audio cable, it's short, around 1m. and connects. play. You don't have to connect it to a controller, but you can if you want to. Please note that on PS4 you must use the front USB ports, the rear one will not recognize it. Mic noise cancellation is on par with the A50, not great, not terrible. Custom noise-cancellation is vastly superior to the A50, and in noise-cancelling mode it's comparable to the E800, although it doesn't have that. Finally consolation. This is by far the most comfortable headset I've ever used and it's far from close. While the E800 and A50 are comfortable for long gaming sessions, you might not even need to wear a headset with this one. It really is that comfortable, from the earcups, which are literally made out of memory foam, to the headband, which appears to be filled with vinyl foam. I wear them for 12 hour gaming sessions and feel like I only wore them for 12 hours.
