I want shoes with a flexible upper and roomy toe box for my wide feet so there are no painful chafing spots. This shoe meets those requirements. I would have preferred the New Balance 928, but these Propet shoes are readily available and are $60 less. This Propet model features a true SL-2 last, a wide and deep toe box with a narrower ankle area to allow the shoe to hug your feet for stability and comfort. Many other brands that claim the SL-2 last (even the New Balance) allow the ankle area to be wider, like a standard wide shoe, resulting in a looser fit in the rear. These Propet shoes have a slightly narrower feel than other brands. The insole adds extra stability but doesn't offer the cushioning of other brands.
