
I read a lot of reviews and watched videos before attempting to put a knife in this new dealer. I installed the rotor base as shown in the video but was unable to align the rotor at TDC. See image of rotor alignment screwdriver. After many tries I finally did the oil pump shaft switch trick and the distributor lined up perfectly. Like others, I had to use my old clamp. My first attempts were with the included bracket, which didn't allow the manifold to be adjusted clockwise or counterclockwise to help with placement. I used my own rotor and cam position sensor. I'm generally very happy with the distributor - just had trouble piercing it. Made me doubt my abilities. Use your old retainer and you should be able to replace it fairly quickly. 👍👍
