Probably only a 1080p device

I use several different capture cards. From amateur to professional. I've come to the conclusion that the Elgato 4K60 Pro MK.2 is a pure 1080p device. It captures the HDR and BT2020 color space. However, I have two reasons to believe this: 1) First, the capture of 4K footage is very "smooth" compared to other cards. At first I thought it was just me, but now I'm more confident. The Avermedia GC573 captures a much sharper 4K signal at a higher resolution. However, eyes can be deceiving. 2) But when you use this card in OBS Studio, the program settings tell you that the card is alternately a 1080p or a 625p PAL capture device. The specs in the OBS studio report 4K, but the default resolution seems to be 1080p and that seems to be the "information" the card can capture. All other 4K cards I have, including the GC 573, report 2160p in OBS.3) The card's maximum speed of 50Mbps can also be noted, for example at 2160p24. AverMedia can capture HEVC Level 6 at 100 Mbps and higher at this resolution. This can also contribute to the perceived visual softness of the Elgato grips. So beware. Not sure if Elgato is going straight with this product?
