Only come if absolutely necessary. Disclaimer: You rarely have to.

I've had this thing for over a year now and I still hardly use it. For example, when connected to the network, there is a large delay when the computer is turned on and the screen takes longer than usual to display a signal. Colors look strangely different, and even with HDMI gamut disabled in their software, the screen with the card looks different, washed out compared to another identical screen not connected to the card. The thing is that it can't get the signal through without installing…

Probably only a 1080p device

I use several different capture cards. From amateur to professional. I've come to the conclusion that the Elgato 4K60 Pro MK.2 is a pure 1080p device. It captures the HDR and BT2020 color space. However, I have two reasons to believe this: 1) First, the capture of 4K footage is very "smooth" compared to other cards. At first I thought it was just me, but now I'm more confident. The Avermedia GC573 captures a much sharper 4K signal at a higher resolution. However, eyes can be deceiving. 2) But…

Doesn't work - be careful with the buyer

Despite all the negative reviews I've seen about this device, I somehow convinced myself to try it. I was very excited to use this for my Xbox One X with no PC required. However, the actual recording function does not work. I'm also getting NO ads telling me the device is on as it should be. Which is weird and very annoying. Direct to TV is fine (although it does NOT output the advertised HDR on my HDR TV). But whatever. I've tried EVERYTHING to get it working, read every article on the web…

Perfect for content creators!

The Elgato HD60 Pro is great if you want to stream/record high quality content at 1080p, 60fps, 60Mbps. This is great for content creators as it allows me to record my screen. So if I want to make a tutorial video on my PC I can do that and record it in really good quality instead of just using screen recording software. I can of course record/broadcast gameplay and with the Elgato software I can add my microphone, stream overlay and webcam and export the file as one or separately e.g. B. audio

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Only available in black

Colors look strangely different, and even with the HDMI color space disabled in their software, the screen with the card looks different, washed out compared to another identical screen not connected to the card. The fact that it can't pass a signal without software installed was a big bummer to me. I hated dealing with it so much. You have to install the nasty software…

Surprisingly amazing

I originally bought a regular HD60 Pro capture card and was preparing for war. Setting up for console streaming seemed like hours of complicated setup. While waiting for shipping, I came across an article on capture cards that labeled the 4k60 Pro as trouble-free when connected to consoles like the PS4 and Switch. I tried to find a 4k setup guide but didn't find anything strange. I decided to give it up and ditch my HD60 Pro and go for a 4k capture card. Installing it on a PC was very easy…

Pros
  • Play high quality console games in the original format with 4K60 HDR10 bandwidth with no latency
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Great for gameplay capture but with one inconsistency

I've been using this for a few months now. It does a great job of capturing my gameplay from my PS4. 1080p with ultra clear sound. The only problem was trying to turn on game audio, party chat audio, and my voice on Elgato. There is a known issue with some weird Elgato limitations on capturing all this audio when using the Blue Yeti. In fact, my audio sounds distorted in the recording, which distracts and annoys me. This was because I wanted to keep my friend's volume separate from game audio…
