I've only recently started using these guides so I have no experience with the old version which is said to be better than some. For my purposes they are quite suitable. I use them as false guides in my stained glass projects and they look really good. You have to be careful not to stretch them (they will shrink and get too small!) and not overdo it or they won't stick well and the glass has to be very clean. Sometimes they don't seal very well and the paint bleeds a bit, but usually I just let them dry and then scrape them off. I've used them in corners, but they don't work very well in tight corners. Instead I cut the strip into smaller pieces to make a curve and then used liquid lead to coat the joints. I wish they would hold and close a little better but I can deal with them for what they are. Bought twice so far.
