The house we bought had the same fan in all rooms and on the terrace. But it clearly wasn't intended for outdoor installation, as the fan blades were bent downwards and the glass dome of the lighting was infested with bugs. Hunter has some great fans so they were the first company I looked at. I love that this fan has a rustic feel and the cages over the bulb (plastic) don't collect dead bugs. In addition, the lighting is included! Installing fans used to be one of the worst things, but this one has a really nice setting that makes installation easier. But instead of a round sphere on which the fan rotates, it has a triangular shape. Just make sure you install it properly. Also, when screwing the mount to the ceiling, I started with a drill and eventually switched to an impact wrench (most things you use a drill for are supposed to be done with a drill). Drivers!) to make sure I didn't strip the screws. I don't know if this unit was advertised with a remote control but there was none. Luckily my old fan had one (it's a Honeywell brand, but it's the same as a regular Harbor Breeze fan remote you can buy at the hardware store). My only regret is that I had to buy a rod. Luckily I left an extra six inch of wire when I cut it so I can go back and do it later.
