Technology seems to be conquering our lives more and more. We use the USB sockets on the top to charge iPads, MP3 players and mobile phones when we can't find a USB socket to plug into an outlet. It was very easy to install. Simply remove the screw from the faceplate, place this unit over the faceplate and screw into place. Ready! It lasted maybe a minute. Charges our iPad as expected. We often have two things at once that don't seem to be a problem. Cons: The green light is always on, indicating everything is "protected". It is impossible to say how much electricity this small lamp consumes. Hopefully not too much. There is a slight buzzing noise when connecting devices to the USB ports. Not very loud, but quite noticeable in a quiet room. It stops immediately after the device is removed. Finally, the guarantee is questionable. In order to actually use the warranty on your devices, you must live in a Belkin-built home where all the devices are present. This shouldn't be a problem for the vast majority, but keep this in mind. I will definitely buy it again!
