They're lighting up our outdoor trees in ways never seen before. They were a bit more expensive than the bulbs I had previously, but they certainly used less power. It didn't bother me too much as they are only turned on for a short time each year and the warmth of the old lamps helped keep the snow out. My problem with the old light bulbs I bought at the local hardware store was that they were white bulbs that were tinted different colors and the color faded after a year or two at most. They're colored within the lamp structure itself, so I don't expect this issue to ever arise, meaning it should pay off next year.
