I use regular cables to charge my phones and my Nexus7 and they have failed one after the other over the years. I decided to try this and oh my god it's FAST. The short length increased the speed significantly. This 24AWG cable appears to be 15-20% thicker than many of the usual free cables that come with your digital device. As long as your charger supplies 2 AMP, you will be charged at lightning speed. Stay away from 0.5 or 1 amp as you will not get full use of this wire. The first code is usually the data signal pair specification, which is usually 28AWG. "2C" means 2 conductors and "1P" or "1Pr" means 1 pair. "2C" and "1P" are basically the same. The important part is the second code, which is the specification of the power distribution pair. The minimum requirement is 28 AWG, and the smaller the number of AWGs, the better. This is because the lower AWG wire is thinner and therefore the electrical resistance is lower. Therefore, charging with a "28AWG/1P + 28AWG/2C" USB cable is usually slower than with a "28AWG/1P + 24AWG/2C" cable. UPDATE: The white version of the same cable is only $3 here at Revain. Might save you a few bucks if you don't need the matching color.
