ATTENTION! The wire can explode the sheath and turn to powder on contact with water. Serious.
This wire looks like stranded copper, but is copper-coated aluminum. I have never experienced something like that. I installed in January 2019 and in October 2019 the device stopped working. The wire exploded as you can see in the photo. I installed 300 feet of this very poor product in hard to reach places. I don't know the chemistry, but the water and this wire result in a non-conductive powder where the wire used to be. Don't buy this if you are going to use it outside. Also, it doesn't solder well. This is the biggest disaster I've ever had. DO NOT BUY this unless you want untold heartache.
