Non 500ft Roll - Accessories & Supplies

My problem with this product is this. If I buy something advertised as a 500 foot spool of wire, I expect to receive a 500 foot spool of wire. What I received was two 250 foot spools of wire. If I ever wanted to go back into town to get an underground splicing kit, I would order a little less than a 500 foot spool of wire. Fake advertising, so sad.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Use a low voltage outdoor cable instead

This cable has suffered water damage in less than two months. I had to cut the wire and the copper was already oxidized. I hooked it up to a low voltage wire and that wire is holding up with no sign of wear. I may now need to rewire my outdoor speaker system because I lost connection twice due to the wires getting wet and weak.

  • Looking forward to

All 4 wires rusted to pieces in less than a year. DO NOT BUY

All 4 wires torn to pieces in less than a year. I should have read more as I see many similar complaints now. One would think that an underground cable would have better wiring. Copper-plated aluminum simply cracks where it corrodes. I secured mine to the underside of our private fence railing to protect it from the rain, but that didn't stop the wiring from rusting and breaking. As if there were no protection against UV or moisture. This might be fine for indoor use, but don't waste time…

This wire looks like stranded copper, but is copper-coated aluminum. I have never experienced something like that. I installed in January 2019 and in October 2019 the device stopped working. The wire exploded as you can see in the photo. I installed 300 feet of this very poor product in hard to reach places. I don't know the chemistry, but the water and this wire result in a non-conductive powder where the wire used to be. Don't buy this if you are going to use it outside. Also, it doesn't…

This wire is rusting!

Last year I used this cable to install a Sonnarray outdoor speaker system. We noticed issues with the speaker a few months after installation but got over it as it still sounded good and played loud. This weekend we booted up the system for the first time in months and only one of the nine speakers was playing. I started running a wire from speaker to speaker to see if I could find the problem. In 7 out of 9 loudspeakers the wire is rusted and completely torn off. I'm in Arizona and the wire is

Do not buy - not good quality

I am writing this review because I am in the process of replacing the 250ft of cables I have buried with this cable. Now it didn't work for the second time. The jacket has multiple divisions throughout, I originally thought it was to keep water out, but have now found that these divisions fold down into wire sleeves. This in turn will break exposing and shorting each wire to each other. The coating on this wire (the outer sheath around the 4 wires) is NOT flexible AT ALL and is sharp if a…

Good quality wire cover, thick and durable

This is the cheapest wire you can buy from Revain and I have used it for landscape lighting. The wire coating is high quality, thick and durable. The cable itself is of very poor quality. No metals but it looks like copper plated silver wire, not real copper wire. Twisted wire is very thin and brittle. When using a wire nut, she stripped the wire several times. After figuring out the best way to cut the wire and connect it to my 20 landscape lights, the wire worked fine. I hope that it will…

Poor quality cable with serious problems

Item received quickly and on time. However, I had to heed the advice of the previous buyers. The outer shield of the cable is extremely stiff and difficult to machine. Small loops or bends are tricky. The outer coating rubs off easily and doesn't appear to be very strong when pulled through the line. The worst thing is the strand material itself. This is NOT copper, it's aluminum wire with a thin copper coating. Looking at the end of the wire I could see an already dark discoloration on the…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
