I bought this player to listen to audio books and it worked perfectly even after dropping it from the height of a table and counter onto a wooden floor a few times. The worst thing that happened was the CD fell out of the tray so I had to open it up, put the CD back on the center piece and just close it again. remembers where it was when you turned it off. As long as you don't remove the CD, it will pick up where it left off. I tried to make it jump by hitting it on the side pretty hard with my hand, but it didn't jump. Very good and durable CD player. Good buy.
