Review on Ultra-Lightweight Barefoot Trail Runner: Xero Shoes Women's Mesa Trail Running Shoe by Andrew Griggs

The quality has gone down

I used to have Xero shoes, I liked them. They lasted a decent amount of time before wearing out. It was over a year, year and a half before I needed a new pair. However, I have driven less than 1,000 miles on this pair and the tread is worn. There is no solid piece of Vibram in the heels under the cleats. When the lugs wear out, you have holes in the Vibram. A lace broke and I lace the shoes loosely, there was no tension on the strap and the pieces of fabric are starting to tear along the arch and instep. Shoes: road and trail. I don't rock and don't do anything that ruins my shoes. I contacted them and they offered to send them back and then I was able to buy a new pair at a discount. But even with the discount, I don't see a way to buy shoes that don't last 1,000 miles. The quality has gone down since my last pair. Among the people I know who have been Xero fans, this is the general consensus among all of us. In fact, if you think about it, it took several pairs sent to Amazon and returned to get a pair that didn't have a knot in the sole or a clear flaw to begin with.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember
