I bought one of these about 5 years ago. Then, about 3 years ago, I got the same duel set from "Secret Santa" as a present. Still light the way I have just repurchased this identical 2 pack for other spots in the house. A feature I really like. It's way, way brighter than old fashioned 2D cell flashlights, it's well made and best of all it only takes ONE AA battery. (Many on the market now use 3 AAA batteries) I have one of these too and it's no brighter than I could visually tell WO tools measure lumens. CM. BELOW>> My first test was only at 10ft, not 50ft. UPDATE >>> This time I did a better visual test at 50ft and the 3AAA flashlight WAS brighter. I left it at 5 stars anyway. At 50ft yes, a little dimmer but very little, and using only 1 AA @ 1.5v battery compared to 3 AAA cells - only 4.5v fewer batteries to buy.
