Last week I was at where you are reading the reviews and confused because some people love this topper and others absolutely hate it. So what's up? The difference here turns out to be very simple. This is a fantastic topper. but ONLY if you have a medium or very hard mattress underneath. My mattress is pretty hard and I can tell you that this mattress pad has changed my life. No, I'm not exaggerating. I have trouble sleeping and move a lot at night. Now I sleep so soundly at night that I wake up really REFRESHED. Now I'm more productive during the day. I can't speak to its long-term integrity yet (update: see below), but I will say it doesn't create any "valleys" where your body has been. I used to get annoyed about the pillow situation (two pillows isn't high enough and three is too many). no longer. This creates the right shape to support me and my neck so the pillows are fine now. I think a lot of the reviews here say it's hard to crawl or that it sinks in too deep etc etc because they put the overlay on a not very firm mattress. I hope that if you are considering this mattress and know that your bed is a bit soft at the moment, please be aware that you may be experiencing some of these issues. But if you have a firmer bed now, you're sure to love this topper! UPDATE: I've had this topper for over a year now and it still feels brand new. I'm still in seventh heaven with this thing. I haven't changed the orientation of the topper as expected (like previous foam toppers) but I still don't see any signs of a dent in the body. That is amazing. If you want to soften a hard mattress, do it seriously. Just get it.
