Review on Fette Filter Compatible Standard Replacement by Joe Patterson

I really wanted to like these filters as they were a lot cheaper than original Brita filters. I went to change one of my filters, according to the instructions, held the filter under cold water for a few seconds, then shook it to remove any air that might have stayed behind. When I shook it, I noticed black water leaking from the bottom, as well as a charcoal stain around the bottom of the device. I blotted the filter with paper towels and couldn't believe how much residue came out. Once the paper towel was covered, I stopped. There's no way I want that black water ending up in my pitcher and then drinking the "filtered" water! Let's get back to the original Brita filters. I've never had this problem with them. These fakes may perform well in terms of fit and ease of use, but the performance is unacceptable in my opinion.
