Artsity Light Dry Clay Sticks to Mat and Acrylic Board

I Use Art Light Air Dry Clay and am having trouble sticking to a carpet or acrylic panel. I tried doing it slow and fast and lifting in different ways. I also knead it very well, but in the end it looks like in the picture. Maybe there is a technique that I don't know about yet. However, the acrylic board is really great for rolling out perfect cylinders and circles, and the ball-tipped tools are smooth and strong. I just wish I could figure out how to stop my clay from sticking when I try to flatten it.
