Attwood Transom Saver Replacement Pads

These replacement pads are terrible. Unfortunately I couldn't give less than one star! According to other reviews they came with nuts and bolts instead of rivets like the OEM unit. The nut sticks out too far so I had to pull part of the aluminum bracket out to allow the arms to pivot as needed. To make matters worse, these replacement rubber pads have a much softer durometer than the original blocks. These pictures were taken after a ride that lasted about 5 hours in total. The pads were destroyed and so the screw scratched my engine. Because they were badly deformed, the front of my motor rubbed the inside of the aluminum V mount and this damaged the aluminum of my motor. Eventually, the pads were so soft that they pressed into the water intake on my lower block, making it VERY difficult to remove the lifeguard on the stern from my boat. I made my own pads out of Delrin plastic. I tried them this morning and they seem perfect. Attwood can easily solve this problem by increasing the hardness of these parts and adding aluminum rivets in addition to nuts and bolts for those who know how to install them.
