Update: Myself and my cats (and dog) love this water dish so much that I bought a 3rd one! I’ve cleaned them since the first review and found it pretty easy and painless. Just take the motor out, put both stainless steel parts in the dishwasher and wash the motor piece by hand, replace the charcoal filter, and let all pieces dry before reassembling. I don’t think I mentioned the first time that these dishes come with a 2nd charcoal filter, and little cleaning brushes to help you get the job done right. I can’t recommend this dish enough!This water dish is perfect for my cats! Its easy to keep clean, pretty easy to assemble although my husband had to help me with one step of it, and the best thing is that its QUIET! As the water starts to lower over time it will start to make a little noise, but I like that because it reminds me to refill it. My cats love it so much that during the first two days we had it, they kept drinking too fast and were throwing up because of it lol. They’ve chilled out since and still continue to love it!
