I've thought about buying a mandolin for a long time, but so many of the recipes I've tried called for thin, even slices. I had a crappy As Seen On TV that I rarely touch due to all the components involved. Let's get to this purchase. Of all my kitchen tools, this did the quickest job I needed (slicing 6 large potatoes into very thin slices) in the least amount of time, with the easiest cleanup due to the few parts. It's durable, the blade is razor sharp (I wear cut resistant gloves for extra safety) and it performs as it should. I am delighted with this mandolin, if it lasts over time it is a perfect purchase. But while he helps me a lot in the kitchen.
