This rating is for the copper finish. I originally bought a Gator coffee maker which was a cheaper design, rattled on an induction cooktop and then broke the handle after one use. This product is of much higher quality. The workmanship seems flawless. I appreciate that the inside is mostly seamless (unlike many others) with a small seam where the spout joins. The handle is welded so you don't have to worry about it coming off. The plastic part of the handle appears to be "rubberized" plastic, which should prevent it from breaking if I drop it. I like that the thermometer is removable (and replaceable if needed). I use it on an induction hob. Unlike my previous kettle, this one makes no noise or rattles. The price is higher than most, but the build quality reflects the premium.
