Makes a decent "one off" HT compared to my much more expensive Japanese HTs. If I drop/break/lose it, I only lose a few dollars (instead of hundreds). I like the size and the design; surprisingly durable feel and performance. The display on this model ("reverse display") is difficult to read on the road. An S-Meter that looks like a cell phone is NOT an S-Meter. This is a redundant busy/TX/RX indicator and will show half bars when operating in TX mode with low power. I would give it 5 stars if I could read the display on the street and actually see the RX signal strength (like competing Chinese rigs at the same price). A decent overall HT at a ridiculously low price.
