Review on Get Accurate Pediatric Diagnoses With ADC 618SF Adscope Adimals 618 Stethoscope, Seafoam by Seth Hogate

I used this stethoscope in the pediatric homecare setting. Whereas I could hear heart and lung sounds adequately I could not get a blood pressure with it. The shape of the head makes it difficult to place correctly with a b/p cuff on arm or leg of any chubby child age 3 or less. I think it would work well in the hospital or clinic setting where you can rely on machines to obtain a b/p but in the homecare setting that is simply not an option, and it is nice to be able to double check those fancy machines anyway when they give you a new high or low reading that you are not sure of. I trust my ears over any machine. It does help with children who are nervous and scared but were willing to let "Panda" listen to their heart or tummy. If I pulled it out for teenagers it made them smile a bit more. However, I later purchased a pediatric Littman, lung and heart sounds are just a bit crisper, and I have not had any trouble obtaining manual b/p's of any age with it. It can of course be used with adults but you won't hear everything you will with an adult stethoscope, the opposite problem of using an adult stethoscope on a child, you hear too much.
