I used one of these patches on the handcart inner tube and it worked great; saved me buying a new tire and tube. They're very different from the ones I used on my bike as a kid, but they got the job done for me. You might think that a handcart is a lightweight piece of equipment compared to a bicycle, but it carries hundreds of pounds several times a month and still hasn't broken. I am happy. Sand the area around the puncture, clean with alcohol, dry and patch. Use your fingers to press firmly on all sides for a minute, then let it dry overnight if possible to increase your chances of a good healing. Wait while reassembling the tube and tire before airing to avoid over inflation and stretching that could rip the patch off.
