I installed this on my Onan QD8000 alternator when I changed the oil yesterday. This is a genuine Oanan/Cummins filter. If you're changing your generator oil and filtering it yourself, I highly recommend adding that to the process. It took me less than 3 minutes to pull out the old one and install the new one. Literally - the hardest part - finding where it is! Mine took a wing nut to remove the plastic housing exposing the second wing nut that had to be removed and that is where the filter sits. Tools are not required. Now I make it my regular routine - I change the air filter every time I change the oil. It's probably overkill, but for under $20, it's no problem.
