These bulbs deliver amazing brightness up to three times further than the original factory-installed bulbs. I was a little afraid of driving in the dark due to my eyesight, but after installing these lights it all went away. The white color over the original yellow also goes a long way. Due to the different spectral distribution of the light, traffic signs seem to reflect it much better, the signs are more visible from a distance. For the install it took me about 15 minutes to install (no problems with the electronics). However, the ease of installation depends heavily on the vehicle. I got the same bulbs (with different plugs) for my wife's Jetta, took an hour to fit (had to remove the battery). Your car is much older and the headlights are opaque but still slightly more visible. I've only had them for about a month so I'm not sure how long they will last but I would buy them every year if I had to!
