Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ MotoRad 7239-180 Thermostat with Fail-Safe Functionality by Adam Shuler

It can be assumed that this will not succeed!

Purchased as an alternative temperature sensor for the 3800 Series III 3.8L. It's 15 degrees colder than OEM. Rebuilt the engine and added this thermostat which was the same temperature as the non fail safe thermostat that had been installed a few years ago. Fail-safe stalled within the first 100 miles on an engine that definitely didn't overheat. Two temp gauges, a pigtail, and a new gauge later I went back to the thermostat and found it locked. This meant it had to be replaced again. I installed a standard temperature sensor and without the "fail-safe" function, everything works fine. While this was being fixed, it was also affecting the MPG and was constantly reporting a P0128 temp that was too low due to the thermostat being stuck open. This is the first and last fail safe I have ever bought.

  • Thermostats
Cons
