For what he does it's really great. But. Because of the metal strainer, it's not ideal if your goal is pure oil. The metal screen removes larger particles, but fine particles still slip through. You may have seen ads for this type of oil filter showing clean oil in a can, ostensibly after it has been filtered. It is a fake. If this is a problem for you, consider buying two (and a pack of coffee filters). When the first batch is strained, pour it into the second batch with the coffee filter in place. The first filters out enough dirt so your coffee filter doesn't clog on the second pass.
