It was great! My son and I spent a whole weekend crafting. I do this to say that after firing for the appropriate time, which was longer than expected, the clay still hadn't hardened. It's really just hard, but very fragile. I made an elephant, and the ears were a little thinner, but not too much. After baking, I checked the hardness and part of the ear broke off. My son made the Alien and we left it as instructed, it took twice as long to cook and it stayed flexible. We used some keychains, but some of them came out very easily after baking. I really like the tools that come with the kit. They are very hard-wearing and lie comfortably in the hand. It comes with a good selection of tools and colors. Before using the clay, you need to warm it up a little in your hands. I wish they were in little resealable bags. I had several very small resealable bags to store used clay. They also come with a booklet with instructions on how to harden the clay, be it baking, blow drying etc. It also includes images of various things that you can use. can and contains several steps on how to do a few things. I wish there were more patterns to follow. I studied art and have experience working with clay, but my son had a bit of trouble coming up with other ideas that worked and didn't fall apart after baking. We could find something online and it worked. It's a little tricky to figure out how long to bake clay when you're making things like elephants that are different thicknesses. Just make sure you have the time and patience. Eventually you will get there. But be careful, thinner sections can become brittle and break. In summary there are some pros and cons but for the most part this is a really good set.
