Bought these for my car to hide my rusty steel wheels. Went to YouTube to learn how to put locking rings on the cap as there were no paper instructions. The only instructions are on the packaging itself and are vague at best. After putting the rings on 3 of them felt safe except for 1 and no matter what I did or how many times I took them off and put them back on it never felt safe. So there are no covers on my car yet and I no longer feel safe with it and have concluded that I have encountered a defective ring. I installed them in my car, did a few test drives and they held up. Of course, a cap with a broken ring on the steering wheel didn't feel safe. Fast forward 3 months and so far I've been happy with them. Unfortunately, when I got home from the food delivery and woke up the next day, I found that one of the covers had fallen off somewhere while driving the day before. And which one fell off? The one with the wrong ring. Now the townsfolk point and laugh at my rusty steel wheel. I can only drive away slowly and ashamed, knowing that my hat is somewhere by the roadside, alone and cold, crying in the dark night, waiting for my return. So yeah, the faulty ring really messed things up. , but with all the covers on the wheels, everything looks fine. UPDATE: Another one fell off. This time he was one of the tough ones. The only thing I can think of as to why it fell off is the plastic connector that holds the ring together. I bought another pair and this time glued the ends of the ring to the connector to keep it connected. If I have to glue a retaining ring to make it work properly, I most likely will not recommend it to others.
