Alpena 58260 Carbon Wheel Cover Review

Installed on a 2014 Nissan Sentra. Looks really nice! Looks like good discs from 25+ feet. Ease of installation. It took me about 15 minutes to remove the original once and install these. Updated 7/11/15 2 have fallen off so far :-(

I really just wanted to buy all new wheels but my car has a tire pressure monitoring system which would cost over $1200 new wheels and tires so I decided to give it a try. These hubcaps looked good in the picture, another reason was that they are made in Germany which is usually a sign of quality. Took a photo in the dark, couldn't be happier. You look great!

First of all, yes they are plastic caps. They won't last forever. However, if you install them properly, they will sit nice and neat. Watch YouTube videos to learn more and slide the metal ring over the bottom notch for a snug fit. In fact, they were almost difficult to put on, so any doubts I had were immediately dispelled. I installed these hubcaps yesterday and they have survived a 150 mile ride. They look great and even though it's a temporary investment I'm happy.

Good product and worth the money. Other reviews have complained that they come loose. I don't think they test different fit options to make them as tight as possible. It took me three different combinations of ring adjuster and plastic ring expander until I got the tightest fit. Pretty much any combination will work for your wheel, but it should be the best if you don't want them to come loose. One size doesn't fit all. Don't berate a good product for bad installation. I can't tell you how much I love them. Excellent quality. Pro Tip: Put some tape on the red plastic connector to hold it in place and wrap the metal collet a little in just one spot to grab it a bit and they fit right and snug I just sprayed my metal wheel with rustoleum spray paint before applying it for this effect. So these are hubcaps. Nothing will change about that. But they look good and don't feel cheap. I followed the advice of another review and taped the red pieces with tape to keep them secure just in case. And I put a layer of tape on some tongues to get a tighter fit. I give them 4 1/2 stars. I lost one after about a year and a half. This was the one I broke a little bit while installing. You must mount the wire ring with the red spacers so that it fits snugly against the rim. The instructions are a bit vague, but once you understand that the tension on the wire ring holds the hubcap in place, it's easier to make the correct adjustment. They fit my car perfectly. I played around with the settings (the red thing connecting the wires) until the environment worked. I had to check and double check that the tire stem was in the right place. After they were put on, they did not come off. The overall look in semi-glossy black is beautiful. Bought these for my car to hide my rusty steel wheels. Went to YouTube to learn how to put locking rings on the cap as there were no paper instructions. The only instructions are on the packaging itself and are vague at best.
