I work for a pool company and many of the old pumps are very difficult to remove from the cap so I always carried a rubber mallet with me , and it helped a lot on some hard hits, but I was running into very large and stuck lids at a new pool company I was just starting out with, so I needed something stronger. I literally don't think there is a better hand sledgehammer than this for what I do. the design itself. The blue finish over the shiny silver looks amazing and I have yet to scratch the finish after using it quite aggressively on metal pump covers. I do not recommend above.
