Zipper Broke Within 5 Months

I purchased this raincoat in October 2021 and the zipper showed signs of not working properly the first time I wore it. I have only worn it maybe 5 or 6 times on Fall and Spring rainy days. On May 4, 2022 the zipper got stuck for the last time. I could not get it unzipped and had to take the coat off my arms and slide it down to step out of it and get it off. Once I had the coat off I tried to get the zipper to work, but it would not budge. After working at it for 45 minutes it totally broke. The small metal piece that goes into the right side of the zipper to zip it up separated from the coat material and fell off. It was bent since I received the coat, so it never did zip smoothly like it should and the 5 or 6 times that I wore it, the zipper got stuck every time. I should have returned it the first time it happened, but I hate the hassle of returning things. The coat is not worth the $45 it cost. I like the material and the hood, and it is definitely waterproof, but it is not light weight. I like that it is longer and has the double zippers, but I feel that is what caused the issue with this coat, that and the fact that the small cheap metal piece on the bottom was bent. I tried to straighten it to possibly fix it and put the piece back on, but it is such a cheap flimsy piece of metal that it split, so I threw it in the trash. I cannot find in the description the warranty for this product. It does have a snap closure as well as the zipper, so I will continue to wear it just using the snaps, which I don’t like as well as having a zipper because it leaves gaps between the snaps for wind and rain to get in.

Pros
  • Great quality, lightweight and waterproof.
Cons
  • The raincoat may not be easily accessible or available in certain locations
