MR77 Review for Thermal Imaging Cameras

MR77 Review: I use this instrument professionally and have reviewed it and several other moisture meters. We have used Delmhorst and Protimeter moisture meters in our office so we could compare this model to them. At the time of writing this review, I've been using this moisture mapping tool for about a month. Advantages: 1. Very good processing quality. The tool is very durable and high quality.2. All measurements (relative humidity, temperature, scan humidity, direct humidity measurement) seem to be very accurate in different situations. No laboratory quality check, but I can compare with other instruments.3. You can confirm device capabilities using the Flir Tools app on iOS.4. The condensation function of this device is very useful.5. The MR77 uses a 9V battery and the battery life is amazing. I also use FlirONE for thermal measurements, so other recent Flir moisture meters were less attractive. Please note that we also use numerous Fluke IR cameras for moisture mapping.6. The price is actually a plus. This is a well-made professional instrument that packs many gauges into one device. Cons: 1. The Flir Tools iOS app requires some work and often crashes for me and other investigators. Not con on device.2. Compared to other manufacturers, FLIR does not specify what counts as dry, marginal, and wet. The flexibility allows the user to set alarms for these readings. However, in professional work it is often useful for a manufacturer to provide relevant advice for most materials so that this can be included in reports to supplement the inspector's interpretation. While I understand Flir's decision, it would be difficult to accept this device without the ability to compare the Flir MR77 readings to other moisture meters. In summary, a great device.
