Review on History Time Puzzle by 4D Cityscape by Andrew Roberts

Happy to buy; very very disappointing

This puzzle is a good idea but very poorly executed.* The first level is a normal puzzle; but given the audience (8 years old) the pieces are smaller than I expected. But that's not a major problem as our 6 year old puzzle fanatic had no problem with it. However, it was stumped a few times because so many parts are interchangeable that you really don't notice when they're in the wrong place.* The foam layer is very easy to assemble. Children will definitely need help cutting out the "Statues/Monuments" cutouts. If they do it themselves, some of the molds will be destroyed.* The real problem lies in the last step, placing the statues/monuments in the styrofoam. It is impossible. They're little pieces of plastic - think Monopoly houses/hotels, but with less detail. There is so little detail on the figures it was just a guess. If there was a key that would be great, but the key they provide shows a picture of the monument itself, not the figure. I lived in DC and walked by the White House every day for 3 years - I can't tell which of these plastic figures is the White House. Even the Washington Monument, which is quite recognizable, can be one of the three pieces. I was happy to give it back. That brought much more frustration than joy. The kids will never do it a second time.
