
All you need is an Arduino or similar micro to program these. three wires, +5vdc, Signal, and Ground. You can make every LED the same or different. program effects. whatever you can dream of. And. you can string these together with other sizes or straight sections. In your code, just be sure to match the total number of LED's. after that. you can address any led in the string to any of 32,000 colors. Is that enough for you? I'd recommend running them at about 1/2 brightness to start. they are BRIGHT. You can adjust your code to tune the brightness better later. but 1/2 power. still pretty bright. Look on Walmart for a DIGISPARK. tiny Arduino. plugs into your USB port. use it to experiment. Have fun!
