Review on πŸ”ͺ Fiskars 399241-1002 Micro-Tip Pruning Snips with Non-Stick Blades - 2 Pack, Orange by Dan Olsen

"Non-Stick " is a passing quality

When I first used these "Non-Stick" pruning shears I was impressed by their ability not to stick together as quickly as the standard Fiskars stainless steel shears. does. However, this did not last long. Once they start sticking together, they quickly become difficult to handle. Luckily I bought 2 packs so I just grabbed the unused scissors and left. Again, they worked fine at first, but then they stuck together and became almost unusable. This is where the real trouble started. To use them again I had to remove the sticky substance. I tried a razor blade but quickly saw that the coating was coming off as well, basically ruining the 'non-stick' ability. Then I took a hard piece of plastic with a sharp edge to clean both scissors. This worked well, but not as cleanly as I would like. But the worst thing was that when I used the plastic, part of the coating was still peeling off. I soaked the blades of both scissors in alcohol for a while, after which I was able to wipe them off easily. Unfortunately, no scissors have special "non-stick" properties after the first use. Conclusion: I like the original Fiskars scissors with stainless steel blades and no non-stick coating. They work great and are easy to clean with a razor blade if they stick together. I've had a pair that lasted over 10 years and only had to change the nib a couple of times. I don't like these "non-stick" scissors, but they seem like a great idea.
