H4 type bought to improve night driving on motorcycles. The ballast is bulky and has a very noticeable light flicker when switched on. I tried my old ballast to see if there is a difference and yes it doesn't flicker so the ballast is no good. The body is chrome plated, I was expecting it to be aluminum which will act as the heatsink. The ballast is the most important element for good HID lighting. Flickering lights when driving will tire your eyes after driving for 20 minutes or less. The connecting harness from the H4 connector to the HID harness is too short. If you plan to use it on a motorcycle, the length is not enough to hide it. My solution is to just buy a two lamp HID with a wiring harness from Xentec and use my old ballast. I got it working and now I have a bright HID light on my bike using Xentec's dual HID light.
