I bought this as a key and letter holder to get right in my door. It was a little smaller than I expected but the item was true to size. Hardly any standard letters fit into the slots on the right-hand side, so most of the mail still ended up on the table. Hanging it up was a little awkward. There are 2 slots on the back for inserting a countersunk screw. The spacing between the grooves was just under standard size, making it difficult to properly drive the screws into the wall to align them. You should then let the screw heads out slightly so they will hook and hold the shelf and press the shelf firmly against the wall. It's a guessing game trying to figure out exactly how far to leave them. It was difficult to install but looks great once hung on the wall.
