The center pin hole was drilled too far toward the back of the tool, limiting the stroke to .040". Replacing the pin with an 18-gauge bar increased travel to .144 inches. The anchors are poorly shaped compared to Fastenal or Hiltie. It is recommended to use JIS #2 bit instead of Phillips bit.

I am so confused about this product and how it works. I tried to hang a curtain rod with it. When I put the anchor in the wall and pulled out the screw, everything came out. I would not recommend this product. It seems like an anchor needs an anchor. It was advertised as if it would open into the wall. But that's not the case.

I bought these for hanging pots and pans along with extra anchors from the same company but most of them broke during installation. I was looking forward to using this tool but it wasn't working properly and was very cumbersome to use. I contacted customer service and they gave me a partial refund but I was only able to use two of them. I had to go to Home Depot for good ones to finish the job.

This item could be great if the service pistol worked properly. I think the service pistol has some issues as it doesn't grab the bolt. This creates the problem that the anchor does not open. The screw should sit perfectly on the gun and slide off. I gave it 3 stars because it can be a great product if more attention is paid to quality in manufacturing. I have returned the product but I hope they fix this issue. I would buy in the future if they upgraded the service pistol.

Edit in update: I ended up drilling and tapping the side screws onto the larger screw, I welded the center screw together which I pulled out. It works fine now, but it's hard to believe I had to modify it that much to get a set of anchors. I didn't even set a single anchor before this thing exploded. The tool is good and works well. The reason for the 4 star rating is poor quality control. The tool fell apart after the first dowel was installed in the wall. The entire mechanism is secured with a 10mm long M4 screw. So the one I used a shorter M4 bolt on didn't have enough threads and broke out as a result. The tool and anchor work great on my 1920's plasterboard walls. They are much stronger than plastic drywall anchors. However, M5 screw heads do not fit the mounting gun. It is not possible to put the screw heads in (or out of) the gun at any angle etc. The heads are 14mm wide and the inside of the gun is 10mm. The seller was responsive but not helpful.
