I have a 2005 Ford Escape. The loop on one of my factory keychains broke and I was unable to reattach it to my keychain. I got this as a replacement. Looks pretty much the same out of the box. The only differences were that it's slightly larger (only noticeable when the two are next to each other) and the icons are just an outline when my original is completely filled. I opened up the old key fob, removed the circuit board and plugged it in. Exchange didn't work! I reopened it and tried several times to make adjustments. I'm not sure what the problem is. I removed the rubber button from my old remote to use it with the new plastic case and it worked without any problems. I compared them and they are very similar. I'm not sure why I couldn't get it to work with the new buttons. So in the end it served the purpose I was aiming for, but it would be nice if it worked with the new buttons. NOTE: As others have pointed out, this does not come with guts. It's just a plastic case and rubber buttons. To do this, you need a circuit board from your old key fob.
