I bought two of these - one brown and one black - because I like the ratchet ("snap") belts really like, and they were wider than any other I found. I like a good wide belt for jeans. They're well built, good looking, and can probably be used for self-defense in a pinch (they're sturdy with a big, beefy buckle, for example). At first they really liked it, but they found a downside that's hard to overlook. Due to the design of the buckle (see photo), it only has two points of contact - front and back - compared to other straps that touch the full length of the buckle. The back part, to which the leather belt is attached, presses uncomfortably on the stomach. I'm a skinny guy, so someone with a larger pillow might not notice it that much. I also don't notice it as much when I've tucked in more layers (e.g. between the belt and belly) so it might be normal in the colder months. However, the summer was not very good.
