Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced KingTool Soldering Kit with Daylight Magnifying for Precision Work by Jeff Callier

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's okay, there are some design flaws.

I have a few complaints about the design, but overall it does the job I need it for, which is a backlit magnifying glass when painting miniatures or working on jewelry. It comes with an anti-static mat if you're working with electronics, and the magnets hold up really strong except when they're not. I find using clips can be questionable as they can break the magnetic connection with enough impact or if the weight isn't properly distributed. I've also found that screwing a magnifying glass into a pre-drilled hole leaves the base uneven due to the screw on the bottom. That means you have to find some feel to lift the base. Felt pads for furniture will do. This may affect those of you who solder electronics, depending on the pins you choose. I would also get a rechargeable flashlight instead of a AAA flashlight if I ever buy another. Instead, I would consider one of the headbands with a lighted magnifying glass.
